Baby Sam is here

We went to the hospital the day my brother Mark and his wife Ashley went to have their baby delivered. We went to early and the kids couldn't go see him. William was very upset and the whole car ride home asked me why kids can't go back and then explained to me that he did not have any germs on him. Ya right! So we went later that night when they had a room. Look at baby Sam's toes!
Look at his little ears!

Look at the Suns game! This is what all the guys in the room looked like most the time we were there.
"Aaaaahhhhh, he soooo cuuuute!" - what Gracie says anytime you even mention Sam. While we were at the hospital she asked, "is there a baby Jesus at this store?" So sweet.
We are sure excited to have this guy living with us and that we get to see him everyday.

Go Suns!

William likes basketball, he always has. He really likes Steve Nash. Anytime a Suns game is on he looks for the 13. One day he told Russ that he would really like to go to a Suns game. Well the Suns were in the playoffs and Russ had some extra money from a bonus that he got to spend however he chose. He took William to see the Suns play the Lakers. Luckily it was a game we won. My brother was talking to him about how cool it was going to be to watch them play and told him he could see Steve Nash shoot the ball. Then William said, "Steve Nash doesn't shoot the ball a lot, he passes it to other players." I was very impressed with that observation and then explained how important assisting is.
They both had a wonderful time. It was fun to talk to him about the game and here him tell people that he is a very lucky boy because his Dad took him to a Suns game. Lucky in deed.

Now when he plays basketball outside I hear him start chanting de-fense! or instructing Gracie to do so. He cracks me up.

Sunday Afternoon

William waters our flowers. He loves using the hose.

Gracie took my hand and lead me around the front yard. Apparently running in circles is a good time for her.
Just being outside is fun.
Then Daddy would swing them, it doesn't get much funner than that.

I love Sundays. Being with my family without any plans is the best.

Sick William

Sometime in May Our kids got sick. Gracie had the fever first but only for 24 hours. Then William got it and his lasted a little bit longer. All he wanted to do was lay in bed and I would lay by him and rub his head or his back. If I got up to leave he would get panicked and ask where I was going. I got little done that day, but that is okay because I know what it is like to be sick in a room all by yourself and it is not fun. We were able to convince him that a warm bath would help him feel better, and it did. And I had to get a picture of his hair. Poor kid.

After the pool

Her hair can be so cool! My little miss ringlets.

The ultrasound

On the 1st of May I had an ultrasound. I found a company that comes to your home and does it. Without a doctors order which was nice because I did not (and do not) have a doctor. I hope that does not sound horrible of me, but I know from previous experience that early on in a pregnancy doctors don't do a lot of good unless something is wrong and I feel like I know by now when something is wrong. I also want to have a home birth, but did not want to look for a midwife until I knew everything looked okay with the baby.
On the day of the ultrasound I called Connie to see if she wanted to come over, and she did. She took pictures and of course brought gum! Here is Russ explaining something to William and I wish I knew what it was.
He had me set up right on the couch and we watch the whole thing on our t.v. It was very cool and he was the most informative ultrasound tech I have ever had.
And there is the little baby! Facing forward.
All of us enjoying the show.
It was a great show...
...at the end they gave us a DVD of the whole thing right after it was done. You can hear all our commentary and William asking every couple of seconds if it is a boy.
And it is! He is so excited about this. Gracie wanted a girl and sometimes she still says there is a baby boy and girl in my tummy, but I think she is getting used to the idea.
I highly recommend Sound Wave Imaging 480-217-4277 or sonogram8007@msn.com.
For $150 they came to our home, did the ultrasound, and made us a DVD. Well worth it to know the shape my baby is in...which is perfect. So now I get a midwife. I found one I like I just need to get back to her and let her know that.

Just in case you need a laugh

and if you don't laugh at these then...

...I don't think there is any hope for you.

A Hero Party

William was the hero of the day. Gracie slipped off the step into the pool and William pulled her out. I only saw him pulling her out of the pool. I felt horrible, but was grateful that William was there and did not hesitate, he just got her out as fast as he could. When I was thanking him and telling him how proud I was of him he asked, "am I the hero?" I told him he was and we decided to have a hero party, and for it he wanted chocolate cake.

He even let Gracie have a turn blowing out the candle. (that is frosting from the beaters all over her face)

These next two pictures are some of my favorite pictures EVER! The first is Gracie telling William thank you for saving her...
and this is when he said, "your welcome". William is such a good brother and Gracie is such a good sister. Together they make a great team.

Yum.

I am sad it happened, but glad that he was brave and did the right thing. It is a sweet thing to hear Gracie say, "my big brudder saved me."

The days of April

These pictures pretty much sum up how the days of April felt. Unpacking, bleh!

Painting Day

Some of my bestest friends came over one Saturday morning for breakfast and to help me paint. I took no pictures of them and I am sad about that. William was a good helper even though we were painting over his favorite color. We painted a light grey/blue, but when we were done it just looks blue. Which is okay, it is a nice color.

Kids have a really hard time not touching walls. That was the hardest part.

Once we were done painting we had some lunch outside (at our breakfast table). The kids were so glad to have so many cousins over.

They all have so much fun together.
Thanks to everyone who came to help!

Covered

What happens when Gracie finds stickers.

Moth Watching

I took an opportunity of William watching a moth fly against my window to take some pictures of my boy. The lighting was perfect

William was perfect

I just want to say how proud I have been of this boy. He has been very understanding of that fact that I am sick and very helpful and loving. It made the experience a lot easier to go through.
