The ultrasound

On the 1st of May I had an ultrasound. I found a company that comes to your home and does it. Without a doctors order which was nice because I did not (and do not) have a doctor. I hope that does not sound horrible of me, but I know from previous experience that early on in a pregnancy doctors don't do a lot of good unless something is wrong and I feel like I know by now when something is wrong. I also want to have a home birth, but did not want to look for a midwife until I knew everything looked okay with the baby.
On the day of the ultrasound I called Connie to see if she wanted to come over, and she did. She took pictures and of course brought gum! Here is Russ explaining something to William and I wish I knew what it was.
He had me set up right on the couch and we watch the whole thing on our t.v. It was very cool and he was the most informative ultrasound tech I have ever had.
And there is the little baby! Facing forward.
All of us enjoying the show.
It was a great show...
...at the end they gave us a DVD of the whole thing right after it was done. You can hear all our commentary and William asking every couple of seconds if it is a boy.
And it is! He is so excited about this. Gracie wanted a girl and sometimes she still says there is a baby boy and girl in my tummy, but I think she is getting used to the idea.
I highly recommend Sound Wave Imaging 480-217-4277 or sonogram8007@msn.com.
For $150 they came to our home, did the ultrasound, and made us a DVD. Well worth it to know the shape my baby is in...which is perfect. So now I get a midwife. I found one I like I just need to get back to her and let her know that.

Just in case you need a laugh

and if you don't laugh at these then...

...I don't think there is any hope for you.

A Hero Party

William was the hero of the day. Gracie slipped off the step into the pool and William pulled her out. I only saw him pulling her out of the pool. I felt horrible, but was grateful that William was there and did not hesitate, he just got her out as fast as he could. When I was thanking him and telling him how proud I was of him he asked, "am I the hero?" I told him he was and we decided to have a hero party, and for it he wanted chocolate cake.

He even let Gracie have a turn blowing out the candle. (that is frosting from the beaters all over her face)

These next two pictures are some of my favorite pictures EVER! The first is Gracie telling William thank you for saving her...
and this is when he said, "your welcome". William is such a good brother and Gracie is such a good sister. Together they make a great team.

Yum.

I am sad it happened, but glad that he was brave and did the right thing. It is a sweet thing to hear Gracie say, "my big brudder saved me."

The days of April

These pictures pretty much sum up how the days of April felt. Unpacking, bleh!

Painting Day

Some of my bestest friends came over one Saturday morning for breakfast and to help me paint. I took no pictures of them and I am sad about that. William was a good helper even though we were painting over his favorite color. We painted a light grey/blue, but when we were done it just looks blue. Which is okay, it is a nice color.

Kids have a really hard time not touching walls. That was the hardest part.

Once we were done painting we had some lunch outside (at our breakfast table). The kids were so glad to have so many cousins over.

They all have so much fun together.
Thanks to everyone who came to help!

What happens when Gracie finds stickers.

Moth Watching

I took an opportunity of William watching a moth fly against my window to take some pictures of my boy. The lighting was perfect

William was perfect

I just want to say how proud I have been of this boy. He has been very understanding of that fact that I am sick and very helpful and loving. It made the experience a lot easier to go through.

Pool time

My kids started swimming as soon as I would let them in early April. It was freezing, but they didn't care. They would swim for awhile and then get out to lay on the warm ground. Here Gracie is swimming in her birthday suit.

Easter Day with the Christensens

Here is Russ with our niece Lilliegh. She likes him a lot and I think it is because he looks and sounds like her daddy.
Jack, William, and Gracie enjoying a movie together.

The egg hunt!

Oh, she found another one!
Finding out what is inside.
